Allrounder with remote-controlled polar pattern
- control of polar pattern on the PSU (like the Neumann M49) instead of the interchangeable capsule system of the CMV563
 - PSU by Andreas Grosser allows a continuous fine control of the polar pattern with a detent potentiometer in 41 steps
 - amplifier section nearly identical constructed as the CMV563
 - M7 capsule
 - tube: EC92 triode
 - very similar sound characteristics as the CMV563 + M7
 - the UM57 was the role model for Microtech Gefells UM92 (later UM92.1S)
 - manufacturing period: 1957-1972
 
Favourite applications: all-purpose. Ideal for vocals but also for numerous acoustic instruments (woodwinds, brass, strings)
