Neumann M49
A perfect large-diaphragm microphone with outstanding sound characteristics
- the M49 was developed by Nordwestdeutscher Rundfunk (NWDR) and first appeared in 1949 in a small series under the model name B-M49 (also available for hire!)
- Neumann started with serial production in 1951 (revised design)
- 2022 presentation of the M49v, which seamlessly follows on from the vintage version and differs only in the tube type
- M7 capsule; replaced 1958 by the K49, which is still used today
- equally popular in pop, jazz and classical music
- very warm and round sound with a wonderful top end
- two vintage M49s (M7/K49) and one M49v (K49) for hire
- manufacturing period: 1951-1974, since 2022 (M49v)
